USWNT etiquette questioned by England coach as “spygate” row erupts

(CNN)England coach Phil Neville has accused the US of lacking “etiquette” ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup semifinal clash after two US representatives visited his team’s hotel while looking at potential accommodation for the final. “It’s not an unfair advantage. It’ll have no bearing on the game. I actually found it quite funny. I just thought, ‘What are they doing?’ It’s not etiquette really, is it? I just think that’s not something that I would allow from our organization.” According to reports from The Guardian, US staff — not dressed in team kit — were shown around Lyon’s Fourvière Hotel. The incident — which is being dubbed “spygate” or “hotelgate” — was passed off as necessary tournament planning by USWNT coach …

My Son Has A 4-Person Coparenting Team Of 3 Fathers And 1 Mother

Our son Wilder will be starting kindergarten in the fall and we recently toured his classroom. As we gathered in the back of the room with other parents, the teacher went around with a list of children’s names introducing herself. When she called Wilder’s name, four of us approached. She stood there silently puzzled for a moment before asking “Which of you are Wilder’s parents?” I answered first, as I often do, “All of us.” Our son just happens to have one mother and three fathers. In early 2013, I lost my father to congenital heart disease and rapid onset dementia. He was the last living member of my nuclear family, as I had lost both my brother and mother …

Debate coach: Smile. Look energized. Don’t blow it.

(CNN)Nothing says the 2020 presidential election is heating up like the arrival of the first primary debates. And we’ve got some whoppers, with 20 Democratic contenders facing off this week in two separate groups determined by a randomized draw. Apparently, inclusiveness to the point of overpopulation is a thing now. There are five moderators for the Miami debates. Whatever slim chance we had for depth is gone now, since each moderator will cover a range of topics with little chance for a second line of analysis or follow up questions. It’s almost as if the Democratic National Committee (like the Republican National Committee four years ago) doesn’t want a real debate — at least not yet. Please lower your expectations. …
